Happy weekend! I hope everyone on the East coast is staying safe and dry. I’m keeping a watchful eye on my family spread out throughout Florida and we’re playing the weekend by ear depending on how much of the storm we get here in the Carolinas. There are so many fun fall festivals lined up for this weekend here in the Triangle, so I’m hopeful that the rain isn’t too bad and we can get out. Meanwhile, you can donate here to help those affected by the hurricane. The devastation in Haiti has been awful and they need all of the help they can get.
How about you? Any exciting weekend plans?
With that, a few little love notes to the things I loved most this week …
Dear attempts at mindfulness, 5 things to leave until Monday so you can enjoy your weekend.
Dear binge-worthy, here’s what the Netflix star-rating system really means. (So cool.)
Dear fitness tweaks, 7 all-over toning ballet moves you can do at home. (Psst … Do these while binge-watching Netflix.)
Dear red lip junkies, how clever are these five easy ways to spice up a classic red lip? By the way, this might just be my most perfect shade of red. (The color is 1 Le Rouge; it’s an Old Hollywood blood red that’s not too dark, complements nearly every skin tone, and makes your teeth look whiter.)
Dear first date jitters, I love these first date questions to ask to avoid awkward silences. They would totally work for making new friends as an adult too.
Dear travel bug, why parents should stop apologizing for bringing kids on planes.
Dear sweet stories, how a Swedish hotel reunited this bear with his best friend.
Dear weekend baking, pistachio pancakes with pistachio butter.
